Hi Anu, could you introduce yourself to those who may not be familiar with you and your work?

I am a rug designer based in France, boasting 15 years of experience in the rug industry. With a textile designing degree from India, I have had the privilege of collaborating with clients worldwide, who share a passion for exceptional design. My creations are a reflection of my personal inspirations and genuine love for the craft, with a heartfelt desire to evoke emotions in those who encounter my art.

My artistic journey is centered on showcasing craftsmanship and cultivating a deeper appreciation for the art of hand-crafted rug making. Inspiration surrounds me, and I allow the impulses of insight to flow through me, giving birth to fresh and innovative concepts. The aesthetic and visual allure of my designs takes precedence in my work. I am unbound by rules or norms, granting myself the freedom to explore various directions, mediums, and artistic techniques.

Embracing experimentation, I constantly seek new methods and approaches to achieve creative goals. While some of my artworks are imbued with profound conceptual ideas, others simply radiate visual beauty without the need for in-depth analysis. Each piece, created with care and passion, serves as a canvas for storytelling and emotions, offering a unique and unforgettable experience to those who encounter them.

Rug design creation is a unique form of art. How did you get into it and what encouraged you to make it your career path?

The artistry and cultural significance behind rug design captivated me, and I saw it as an opportunity to blend my love for aesthetics and functionality. I found joy in researching different rug-making techniques, materials and historical patterns from various cultures around the world.

Ultimately, the desire to combine my passion for art, my love for interior design, and the prospect of making a meaningful impact on people's living spaces motivated me to pursue a career in rug design. I continue to be inspired by the endless possibilities this field offers, and I strive to create rugs that not only beautify spaces but also bring joy and comfort to those who choose to include them in their homes.

Could you share the process behind the creation of your rug collections and what elements inspire you?

As a rug designer, the process of creating my rug collections is an exciting journey that involves a blend of creativity and exploration. When I begin working on a new collection, the first step is to define a central concept or theme that inspires me. This concept could be inspired by various sources, such as nature's beauty, cultural symbols, architectural elements, or even personal experiences that resonate deeply with me.

Sketching and experimenting with various design ideas is a crucial part of the process. It allows me to explore different patterns, motifs, and compositions that might eventually find their place in the rugs.

Additionally, I strive to stay attuned to contemporary design trends and innovations in the rug industry. This ensures that my collections remain relevant and appealing to a modern audience while still maintaining a timeless essence.

What elements are essential to you when creating a rug?

I consider the concept and inspiration, color palette, patterns, texture, material selection, proportions, versatility, craftsmanship, and sustainability as essential elements when creating a rug.

Your rugs focus on interesting designs with beautiful patterns. How would you style them in the interior space?

Decorating our unique rugs in interior spaces involves careful consideration to ensure they become the centerpiece and enhance the overall ambiance.

Statement Piece: We believe in making our rugs the focal point of the room. Placing a bold and captivating rug in the center of the space draws attention and sets the tone for the entire interior design.

Frame the Space: In larger rooms, our rugs can act as a frame to define specific areas, such as seating arrangements or dining spaces. This helps to anchor the room and create distinct zones.

Ultimately, our goal is to create interior spaces where our rugs shine as artistic and functional masterpieces. We believe that our unique rug designs have the power to elevate any interior, creating a beautiful, inviting, and soulful environment that reflects the personalities and stories of those who inhabit it.

If you could name your top 3 favorite interior designs, which ones would you choose?

Scandinavian: Known for its simplicity, functionality, and emphasis on natural light, Scandinavian interior design features clean lines, neutral color palettes, and a minimalist approach to furnishings and decor. This style creates a serene and cozy ambiance, making it a favorite among those who appreciate a clutter-free and calming living space.

Minimalism is a style that embraces simplicity, functionality, and a clutter-free environment. It is characterized by clean lines, a limited color palette, and a focus on essential elements. The minimalist approach creates spaces that are serene, sophisticated, and visually calming. With a less-is-more philosophy, this design style emphasizes quality over quantity, allowing each carefully chosen piece to shine and contribute to the overall aesthetic

Bohemian interior design, often referred to as Boho or Boho Chic, is a style that celebrates free-spiritedness, creativity, and a carefree lifestyle. It draws inspiration from various cultures, artistic elements, and vintage pieces, resulting in a unique and eclectic ambiance.

Finally, what are your current 3 most beloved interior trends?

Vintage and Retro Revival: Vintage and retro styles are making a comeback in interior design. People are drawn to the nostalgia and timeless appeal of mid-century modern furniture, vintage decor, and retro color palettes. Incorporating vintage pieces adds character and a sense of history to the space, creating a unique and eclectic ambiance.

Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Design: With a growing emphasis on environmental consciousness, sustainable and eco-friendly interior design is gaining popularity. People are increasingly seeking eco-conscious products and materials, such as recycled or upcycled furniture

People are seeking unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that add character and authenticity to their spaces. Handmade ceramics, woven textiles, and bespoke furniture are celebrated for their craftsmanship.
