10 Best AI Interior Design Tools Reviews
1. REimagineHome
Scandinavian Living Room by REimagineHome
Best for: Personal style update
This AI tool generates natural results without much effort. You just need to upload an image of a room, choose a theme and get stunning visual enhancements. The user interface is clean, and the results are stunningly beautiful.
Key Features:
- Has several functions, from Virtual Staging empty room’s photo, redesigning already furnished room’s photo or removing all the items to rendering landscaping and exterior structure ideas.
- Has a huge variety of Design themes and Space Types.
- Gives 5 remodeling points to try the software for free.
My Experience:
ReimagineHome has to be my favorite software of all the ones I have tested out. The UI is extremely clean and user friendly while results are genuinely impressive. It gave me the most realistic results and great ideas how to decorate my place. The only pretty minus for me is that you cannot edit the rendering that much. But compared to other similar tools, this gives really good ideas for your future furniture layout and how different styles might translate to the space.
Pros: Very aesthetic, intuitive interface and extremely realistic results.
Cons: Few editing options after rendering.
2. Homevisualizer.ai
Scandinavian Living Room by Homevisualizer.ai
Best for: Quick living room and bedroom remodels
This tool creates new interior renderings from a single photo. While it's fairly simple, the results are usually clean and realistic. It's especially great for making small changes to a room and experimenting with different decor themes.
Key Features:
- Allows you to write your own prompt what kind of design you want.
- You can also upload your own Inspiration Images and homevisualizer.ai will fuse it with your room photo.
- You can decide how creative you want AI to be from Low to High.
My Experience:
I was really amazed by the first result with descriptive text. The “after” of the plain room image was really realistic and useful. The Style Fusion function that uses your submitted inspo photo on the other hand definitely let me down with a coffee table looking thing on the ceilings.
Homevisualizer.ai's User Interface
Pros: Simple UI, realistic results, can decide how creative you want AI to be.
Cons: Limited layout and color control, didn’t work well with inspiration image.
3. Spacely
Scandinavian Living Rooms by Spacely
Best for: Generating interior images from scratch
Spacely is a generative AI that lets you create room visualizations without needing a photo. You enter the room type and style, and the tool generates variations. Perfect if you're starting from scratch and looking for inspiration.
Key Features:
- A huge selection from Room Type to Room Style.
- You can edit, change colors, remove objects.
- Generates several rooms at once.
My Experience:
I was a bit skeptical about Spacely at first. The UI is not so intuitive as others, but the possibilities that Spacely offers is truly incredible. You can render, try different styles, edit rendered versions to add more objects or remove something and enhance the final result in other ways. I went from a simple white empty room to a scandinavian living room with light green walls and a big painting over the couch.
Spacely room editing interface
Pros: Great for inspiration, a lot of tools and freedom.
Cons: Less intuitive, takes more time to learn how to use it, doesn’t generate everything the way you ask it.
4. Remodel AI
Scandinavian Living Room by Remodel AI
Best for: Quick interior and exterior remodels
This mobile app is designed for quick makeovers. You take a photo, choose a theme, and Remodel AI applies a new look. It's fast and fun, but accuracy can be inconsistent depending on the photo you upload.
Key Features:
- You can do remodels from full interior and exterior ones to specific floors, walls and paint changes.
- Full Remodel function has a lot of different preset styles, but their preview icons are not very accurate to what the AI results deliver.
My Experience:
While User Interfacing was pretty easy to use and the variety of different remodels you can do surprised me, the program froze a few times and AI didn’t deliver very realistic images for a full remodel. However, floor and wall remodels pleasantly surprised me.
Home Decor, Floor and Wall changes by Remodel AI
Pros: Easy to use on mobile, fast results, 10 free remodels give you enough times to try different things.
Cons: Limited control over details, some designs look generic and unrealistic.
5. RoomGPT
Summer living room by RoomGPT
Best for: Instant room transformation
RoomGPT's UI design is very simple, clean, and intuitive. Upload a photo of your room, choose a design style (like modern, coastal or vintage) and get AI-generated photos of your space in seconds.
My Experience:
It was probably the easiest tool I've tried, however, for the theme (summer) and room type (living room) I chose, the final result was quite empty and looked like an exhibition room rather than a living room.
RoomGPT's User Interface
Pros: Easy to use UI, generates images very quickly.
Cons: No furniture editing or shopping integration, very limited room themes.
6. Planner 5D AI Interior Design
Best for: Creating all interiors from scratch
Planner 5D combines drag-and-drop room design with AI suggestions. If you want more than just changing the style of a photo, this is what you need. You can create 2D or 3D models, decorate them and get AI-driven layout ideas based on your choices.
My Experience:
I found the AI floor plan recognition tool work really well if you don’t want to spend a bit of time putting the floor plan by hand. Just submit a photo of the layout in JPG or PNG format, and it’s done.
Pros: Full control, detailed modeling, ideal for complete renovations.
Cons: Takes time to learn, not fully AI-powered, requires a Premium plan to use AI.
7. Paint.it
Scandinavian Living Room by Paint.it
Best for: Color changes and wall transformations
This AI tool is ideal if you're focused on walls, paint and small mood changes. It's great for visualizing different color schemes before you even pick up the roller.
My Experience:
This tool’s UI instantly reminded me of Chatgpt interface. It is very easy to use and intuitive. While AI software made my submitted room quite smaller than it was originally, it still gave me good ideas and inspirations. In addition to that, Paintit gives you similar product recommendations, so you can instantly find something for yourself.
Pros: Quick and easy for wall color previews, includes real product recommendations.
Cons: Narrow feature set, doesn't help with furniture or layout.
8. Remodeled.ai
Scandinavian Living Room by Remodeled.ai
Best for: Professional-looking “before” and “after” designs
Remodeled.ai aims to showcase transformative design updates by comparing “before” and “after” visuals. This is great for seeing the potential of a renovation, but it may lack the control that others offer.
My Experience:
The Remodeled AI is one software I kept seeing pop up in a lot of discussions. While the UI is definitely user friendly, the final results disappointed me quite a bit with new trendy floating pictures on the curtains and rather very minimalistic Living Room ideas without any furniture but a rug while having both Scandinavian theme and Designer mode on.
Scandinavian Living Room by Remodeled.ai
The reason why I would still recommend playing around with this software is because it keeps the room accurate and doesn’t change the base too much with new windows or doors where you had only walls before.
Pros: Clear images, accurate room structure.
Cons: Empty results with designer mode, limited customization options.
9. Homestyler AI Designer
Scandinavian Living Room by Homestyler
Best for: 3D floor planning and space remodeling and AI
Homestyler combines real product models with design mockups, allowing you to fully furnish virtual homes. While the AI aspect is less prominent, it's a powerful tool for practicing decorators and interior design enthusiasts.
My Experience:
The Homestyler AI gives decent visualizations but add big changes to the room such as extra windows or doors. Overall, it can still give you good inspiration ideas, but you won’t be fully able to rely on it compared to other tools.
Homestyler AI's User Interface
Pros: Large product library, realistic 3D models.
Cons: Not fully AI-based, more suitable for professionals, doesn't generate good AI images.
10. Canva AI Interior Design
Scandinavian Living Room by Canva AI Interior Styler
Best for: Quick concept images
Canva recently added an AI interior design feature to its extensive toolkit. It lets you upload a photo of your space and try out new styles with a single click. While the results aren’t photorealistic, the simplicity and speed are great for generating ideas. The platform is perfect if you already use Canva for mood boards or branding.
Pros: Fast, works well with other Canva features.
Cons: Not suitable for floor plans or detailed visualizations, requires to purchase separate credits from Canva subscription to use the tool.
